In the last few months we have been looking for a new location for this great project. I am happy to say we have our new land. Our new website has been received well, since mid February we have had more than 50,000 hits. one thing is certain, people are learning from Green Log Home. The more people we can help educate the better. We are always adding new content and updating information. If you would like to contribute please email us.
from here things are really going to pick up speed.

‘Go Green Expo’ was an inaugural green show aimed at helping New Yorkers learn about the ways in which to adopt a greener lifestyle. There were over two hundred exhibitors ranging from Hybrid car manufacturers to recycled paper made from elephant dung!
Was it all really eco-friendly or in some cases just clever ‘green-washing’?

When you consider that: the purified municipal water you are drinking may have at some point passed through several other peoples kidneys, it shouldn't be a surprise to learn how easily different contaminants enter the food chain. Prey e.g. fish living in polluted water, become food for those higher in the food chain, and so contaminants are consumed and passed on.

Just recently PepsiCo and Coca Cola, (who bottle Aquafina and Dasani respectfully), admitted that the water in their bottles is sourced from municipal water supplies. The source and quality of bottled and tap water in many cases is the same, with no additional health benefits. However, for the purpose of this discussion, we will not dwell on whether you want to spend more money on water in a bottle or directly from the tap; but focus our attention on whether or not the water is contaminant free!

There is only a very small pocket of uncontaminated water on our planet. Water found in the Antarctica has the purest ice and snow in the world. Antarctica's isolation has allowed it to avoid industrial pollution common to all the other continents. We look into the ways in which all water, including drinking water, become contaminated.

If you thought drinking bottled water was safer and healthier than tap water, think again! Not only can bottled water contain small amounts of contaminants, the bottles themselves are also energy intensive to produce; they require valuable fossil fuels in their distribution and can take over one thousand years to degrade! Combine these facts with the potential seeping of chemicals from one-time-use-only bottles, and the relatively steep cost for one small bottle of water - it's time to learn some hard facts on this subject…

Our initiative has grown. With that in mind we are building a new website. It will have the same design as our current one, however it will have a lot more information. We also plan to have web-episodes that we are filming showing some of the progress.
We also will be featured in Post Magazine in February about our project. check out their website to see the story when it comes out http://www.postmagazine.com
we are aiming to have the new website online before the story breaks
Thanks for reading and following our project

or it least it feels that way.
who would have thought that it could be so difficult to find a piece of land suitable for this great project.
Since having to stop our project mid stream, a day before construction, we have searched high and low for land all over.
we have learned many things that people can benefit from in a land search. one thing that cannot be overstated is to keep a list of everyting you have looked at and discarded as you will look at it at least 4 times more before realizing why you didnt like it to start with.
once we have an idea of where it will all go, all our readers will be the first to know
Cheers, Happy new year!!!

It has been a while since our last update to the blog page. We are moving the whole project to a new location. Just before we started to dig the foundation we had complications. We are still filming segments with our partners for the television series. Once we lock into new property we will post pictures.
check back soon
Delays...Delays...Delays... quite frustrating but we finally are at the next phase. we are going to have our permits very soon. We have a lot to accomplish in the next few weeks. The excavator will commence work on Monday. We have the electric line to dig and the house site to prepare for foundation, which one is done first will depend on the permits. Our electric trench needs to be 500 feet long and needs to meet the town codes.
We hope to be underway shortly and once the electric is in there will be a video feed.
keep an eye out updates will be more common once we have construction started
The house site is ready. The land is cleared, the driveway is in place, we are ready for phase 2. The House building.
We went through a lot in the initial stages. At first we had an entirely different manufacturer for our home. after research and learning about the process we changed everything. Our goal is to teach the best way for people to build green. The new home company, Moosehead Cedar Log Homes, practice some of the greenest methods we have found. if you look on the website you will see pictures and floor plans of our customized home. We think its amazing

Thats right, today we are going up to start the production of the Green Log Home TV show. We are using production company; Steam Films to shoot High Definition video of the project. We will be editing webisodes to bring everyone a step closer to the project. The footage will be crisp, colorful and stunning to view. We will post some full resolution imagery for people to download and use as they wish, each frame will be like a piece of art.
